Harvia lists the M3, item WKM3, as a 16.5 kW floor stove for sauna rooms from 212 to 459 cubic feet. It measures 15.35 inches wide, 16.93 inches deep, and 27.95 inches high, with a listed stone amount of 66.2 pounds.

This format is the simplest of the three when the fire can be tended inside the sauna and the exact manual's clearances work. The current retailer listing says the stones are required and sold separately. Treat the chimney, protective bedding or sheath, stones, and installation as part of the purchase scope.

HUUM HIVE Flow Mini: high stone mass in a compact range

HUUM lists the HIVE Flow Mini at 8.5 kW for sauna rooms from 212 to 494 cubic feet. It holds about 231 pounds of stones and accepts firewood up to roughly 11.8 inches long. Its current North American product data lists a 4.49-inch flue diameter.

The main tradeoff is visible in the package weight and room plan. The large stone quantity adds thermal mass, but it also adds cost, floor load, handling, and guard considerations. Confirm every clearance dimension from the US manual because a compact stove body does not mean a compact total safety envelope.

Harvia Legend 240 SL: external loading for a larger room

Harvia lists the Legend 240 SL, item WKLE20SLM, as a 21 kW stove for 353 to 848 cubic feet. The SL fire-chamber extension lets the user load wood from another room or outside the sauna. The stove holds 441 pounds of stones and is substantially larger and heavier than the M3.

This is a project-specific format, not an automatic upgrade. The wall penetration, loading-side fire protection, chimney, floor support, stone handling, and clearances all need to be resolved before purchase. Use it when the room and operating plan genuinely benefit from external loading.

The six checks that decide the purchase

  1. Calculated room: measure finished volume and apply the selected manufacturer's adjustment for glass, masonry, log walls, and other uninsulated surfaces.
  2. Local acceptance: confirm the exact stove, chimney, listing or certification, permit, inspection, and solid-fuel rules with the authority having jurisdiction.
  3. Clearance envelope: lay out the stove, door swing, protective surfaces, safety rail, benches, and service access using the current manual.
